About Me: Welcome

ABOUT

Kim Loomis-Bennett is a life-long resident of Washington State, besides a detour into Oregon where she met her husband. Her poems, stories and book reviews have appeared in The November 3rd Club, Ripasso, The Copperfield Review, The Far Field, Poet’s Quarterly, and Hippocampus Magazine, among others.  She has been a reader for Glimmer Train Stories, served as a poetry editor for River and South Review, and poetry proofreader for Etruscan Press. Her most recent work is included in The Far Field. She has an MA in Creative Writing from Wilkes University and an MFA with a concentration in poetry, memoir and editing.

After teaching a few years at a local community college, Kim developed a neurological disorder requiring her to leave her beloved teaching position several years ago. Even though her neurologist told her to no longer plan for the future, she now spends her time creating art and writing as much as her disability allows.

Her new work focuses on resilience and healing. Fortunately, in the last couple years she has sold or gifted paintings, and written book reviews for publication.
